Greenday is one of those bands where it's easy to appreciate all three of them and what they do. It's so easy with a band to get absorbed into the lead singers show, but Mike is an incredible bass player and you can hear him all through any song, same with Tre. These three are brilliant.

@gabe4u22 actually I've been playing drums for 12 years. Tre Cool is a very good drummer. Soloing isn't what makes a drummer good...anyone with enough caffeine and a months worth of drum lessons can do a solo most people would consider awesome. Solos are overrated. Tre plays with such immense energy as well as almost never straying from keeping solid time (drummers actual job, not showing off). That's what makes him a superb drummer. He has the perfect mix of simplicity, energy and chops.

@gabe4u22 you gotta keep in mind the style of drumming within this sort of sound. You can't really break into portnoy or peart solos in the middle of 2 minute punk songs. What I love about Tre is he's one of the loudest drummersm he playes everything to the max including the high hat, his strokes are clean and precise and ive never seen him mess up he is a human metronome and he's idol was Keith Moon. I can def see some Moon soul poured into his style. if anything i think Tre is underrated.

2) you are comparing punk rock drummer with chad smith (i think he play something like funky )

4) tre is funny, great drummer who always play same track live as in the studio.... and his drum tracks and tuning sounds fucking awesome....i guess it is all that matters...

@Dam0nSalvat0re I agree he is a great drummer, but he would never release a drum solo album, that is what makes him stand out from all the other drummers. His beats in Green day's songs aren't about him being heard the most, but about giving the song power and generally awesomeness.
