I think Tre’s most identifiable charactistic is how stiff he plays on the hi-hat. Almost a robotically consistent velocity using less wrist and more elbow.

Been watching Green Day live footage and watching his drumming really made it evident how important his playing style is to their overall sound. Not a lot of drummers do that. He’s rock solid, very technical, but definitely epitomizes the “less is more” approach with flashes at just the right time. Very much the same way Charlie Watts did for the Stones.

1:54 I listen to Green Day now for 13 years and play drums for 11 years because of Tré. This is the first time I ever see him playing a double bass pedal

That of all drummers he says to not play to many fills is hilarious :D but i love him for that

"I like to think i'm a recognizable drummer" Understatement. Its like the moon saying "i think i'm a recognizable thing in the night sky" :)

I’m 40. I have been a drummer since 5th grade. My 2 God tier drummers are Carter Beauford and Tre Cool. These two drummers …. To me … the GOATs 🐐.

Rule number 2 and 3 are so important. Not enough drummers do them or combine them
