@fanciful If I'm not mistaken, the order of the x-product won't matter since r'xr'' = -(r''xr'), and when you find the magnitude of the cross, you square each part of it making positive/negative irrelevant.

I think it's an even better question to ask how the absolute value of the cross product of the velocity and acceleration functions divided by the absolute value of the velocity function cubed gives "how quickly the curve changes

@pederklev Thanks! I actually realized that was a property of x-products later that day. You produce an anti-parallel vector when you switch the order. And yes, you're absolutely right, then the abs.val. makes that irrelevant.
