With the dramatic scene of you telling him she died, I expected another dramatic scene when you tell him she's alive.

The way he reacted was like if Batman said, "Sorry about Barbara. Did you know she was pregnant too?"

Different interpretation: Robin falls to his knees because he still believes Barbara's dead and Bruce is just messing with him, finally succumbing to the Joker's blood disease.

I totally forgot to go back and tell him and I kind of regret it. Things happened so fast once I discovered she's still alive, so I got busy trying to progress the story, but then again, it makes more sense this way because it's just weird to go back to tell him and then not letting him out. It made more sense to forget him in the cell and realize later that Scarecrow got to him first.
