Guard Your Source of Influence

Deep insecurities often plague us, making us question whether our work is truly good enough. Being around other insecure creatives can sometimes cause damage through harsh critiques, further lowering our confidence. 

It's crucial for us to be mindful of our sources of influence and who we allow to speak into our lives. I encourage all creatives to guard their hearts and seek constructive, supportive feedback. Remember, your work is a reflection of your unique gift and calling.

it depends on how performative the medium is. being in a band it’s always weird showing people my released music when i first meet them, but I’m always beyond receptive of audience’s interpretations of my art—most especially when playing live. having others form interpretations and attribute characteristics to your art makes for the most valuable discourse that art can offer (in my opinion).
