Thank you so much Elif. This really helped and encouraged me! To be honest, I went around with no direction for a long time all while getting a diploma in marketing (which didn't do much but shown me how vast the field is).


I thought that being in digital marketing meant knowing a bit of everything and then having one aspect you are most secure in as your specialisation. While this seems sensible enough, it gave me lots of stress because I had this impression that I need to know and like everything, including the data and business-driven part. I now realise that I need to narrow down to the things I actually like, and being honest with myself, instead of listening to people around me disparaging the more creative aspects of digital marketing in favour of the "sexier" data analytics part.
I don't actually dislike analytics, but I realise that it may not be my strong suit.

Your videos have been so helpful. I am from India. I am currently pursuing PGDM from Welingkar Institute, I have chosen marketing. I am currently in 2nd year, the last year of masters. I have been so confused about what am I doing. My plan in March 2020 was very clear. I wanted to pursue MBA in Travel N Tourism but after the pandemic it seemed not so wise option. So I decided to go ahead with Marketing instead which also I am interested in and I believe I am good at it. I have been creative my whole life as well. I was clueless to be honest on what am i suppose to do once I get the degree. I finally thought it is high time I take things seriously. I started from the basic. Hi, firstly thank you for taking out time from your busy schedule.. I was always pulled towards marketing. I found it interesting to know how to attract customers, understand their psychology and the different creative ways to do it for a brand or a company. I love creativity, thinking out of the box, understanding n acting upon the needs of consumers etc but im not much into social media. N right now im working as a Sales Manager. Thanks, it was very useful and helped sort out some things. I am working at social media marketing right now, promoting instagram and facebook pages of some businesses in my home country. Also, I am trying to learn how ads manager works, all that tools... However, first things that comes to my mind when you say marketing are videos and posters, strategies of connecting everything properly to gain results😅 Also, I am thinking about Masters degree in this field.
