Another reason why mechanical limited slip differential are fantastic.

Some clarification to what you said. By holding the brake and the traction/advance trac button down for 5-7 seconds you actually turned all the nannies off. What I mean by that is you turned the traction control and advancetrac off. If you press the button once you only turn off the traction control. Press the button twice in rapid succession with the brake pedal depressed and you go into sport mode. You are confusing traction control and advacetrac, also know as stability control by other car manufacturers. I hope that clarified things.

It's so beautiful in Colorado in the winter. I love the places they show when TFL does these videos. Makes me want to hop in my Ram and move up there.

Now, looking at this video Roman, I miss my 1948 Willys CJ-2A with those 7:00x16 Hankook snow tires. Nothing, ( hardly ) ever got it stuck.
Good job here, Thanks again!

you guys should do snow driving technics in older vehicles vs new vehicles, IE, ones with all the electric stuff

Stability control is much more useful than traction control, IMO. In deep snow, you need to be able to deliver power to the wheels so traction control is pretty much always detrimental.

Traction Control is useless in my truck

Do a 4WD TC vs no TC. Timed short drag race. In sand, packed snow, and powder. Throw in a skid pad test or figure 8 course. When you find the time ;-)

Permanent all wheel drive and a good set of winter tires and you don't need no computers to take control

Wow this guy is supposed to know how to turn off TC. You just touch it once to turn off Traction Control. You hold it down for 8 seconds to disable Advance Trac.

I understand the benefits TC has to a less experienced driver, but learning to drive with it off and understanding how to regulate throttle is much better and forces you to better your driving skills. I find it to be more of a nuisance than helpful now, for me.

I have had nothing but bad luck with the BFG KO 2 tires. I went to Michelin Defenders and its night and day difference.

Nice demo would have liked to see the rear locker try to get you out before 4 wheel

Weird noises coming from that transfer case...

Interesting. So, is Ford's traction control basically "All Wheel Drive"?  There are so many variations of drives systems that I can't keep them straight in my head.

Nice video demonstration.
Could you maybe do the same on an incline. Would be great!

Sorry but I disagree with using traction control in snow and it's mainly because I live in the east where it's wet snow with a lot more ice and stuff because of the water content. Traction control is useless on ice, and I actually turn my traction control off on my fwd car in the snow. I learned to drive in snow in a car that didn't have tc and I prefer to not use it. Sometimes you need to spin your tires up to fling the snow out of the grooves... of course I don't use dedicated winter tires because I live in the south and it's a wasted investment here.

Advanced Trac and TC both turn back on in my 2015 F150 if you get a little sideways or go over a certain speed. This is very annoying, I wish I could disable it completely without removing the ABS fuse.
