This is excellent, thank you! 🙏I just established my channel a couple of days ago, but haven't uploaded a video yet. BUT...I'm doing your 30 day 2 minute video challenge and last night, I felt more like myself while talking to my iPhone camera. Thanks for all your encouragement! I love your video presence and content!!! 🙌🏼✨

Thanks for your brutal honesty in correcting a lot of the hype out there about bad videos. I always felt that way about just posting videos from the start on a schedule and not regarding quality so much. Sure, you have to do it to get better, but i always felt that quality is more important than quantity out of the gate. I've posted some videos that i know should be better, but if i focus appropriately on producing quality, i know it will get better, even if it does take a little longer. Thanks for your advice.

The "Energy" take is a very subjective and easily counterproductive. It is because of someone attempting to have "Energy" many video creators come across as fake, made-up, and not genuine. Nobody wants to watch a disingenuous energized video. Instructing someone to have "Energy" is just not a good idea and can come across as just "Try Harder". Knowing and Belief are a good thing and have no easily misplaced bad side. Ditch the "Energy" and make it "Genuine".

That is what Neal at YouTube said about my channel. " Stop the troll ".
But I answered...." I'm not a are my videos for my channel. I don't do it on purpose, these are the best I can do. I'm not trolling "

Thanks Steven for your living examples of energy, knowing, belief. It's one thing to read about it but quite another to see it in action. Thanks for showing us how it is done. 😊 👍 Gonna go do it now.

I truly love your content. So practical and easy to comprehend. I will have to watch this one again though… probably because it is 2:20 in the morning 🙄 … I think I have the opposite energy problem as I have a BA in Theatrical Arts, so my knee-jerk is always stage performance which doesn’t translate well to camera. When I try to pull back, I go flat. Still practicing on my own, but have a bit of camera anxiety because I always feel I’m in acting mode.

Some solid advice. My only concern is too much energy can seem over the top and not authentic. I recently found myself raising my voice too much. I'm not Mr Beast and don't want to come across that way. But you are definitely right about bringing it up a notch when addressing the camera.

I was going without spending much time and effort - just shooting nature, seaside… not myself… this video of yours made me ponder on starting to talk myself… not sure yet - but I am reckoning on that! (one of the issues is that I'm not a native English speaker - and I don't want to do stuff in Lithuanian) but I hope I'll manage…

Agree that practice really helps. I've discovered that the last half of my videos are the best in terms of communicating confidently. Tempted to play around with recording the the first half of the video after I warm up on the second half (or it's just a recipe for confusion)

The Foo Fighters are great for motivation! 🤟 I always charge myself up with rock music before filming. It makes the whole experience more fun 😁 Great advice!

My videos stink so bad that this time of year I put them all around the garden. The stench keeps the deer away from the tomato plants.

Wonderful advice as always, Steven. I loved my latest video, parts felt energised and parts sombre and thought-provoking and parts tackling my greatest fears. I even watched it back and found myself getting lost in it 😅.

But with that said I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t hurt when you still see so few views. This journey is an emotional rollercoaster 😅🧡

I’ve been on YouTube for 6 years and FINALLY had a video pop off. Still not monetized but hoping the momentum keeps going for my latest video and I can meet the qualifications.
