If your young horse is soft in the halter, leads well, and accepts basic restraint, he is ready to learn to tie. Here is a first lesson for a 7 month old colt.

About Herm Gailey:

Herm Gailey has spent a lifetime with horses. He is a nonprofessional rider who starts and trains his own horses to successful careers in multiple disciplines. Away from the show ring Herm retains a deep respect and appreciation for good reliable trail riding horses and believes that all horses benefit from this type of riding.

Buddy is a perfect name for this handsome youngster with a remarkably calm demeanor. It's obvious that you are setting him up for success with the way you are raising him. ❤

What a sweet youngster 😍 How can he be that calm at his age alone and away from his mother and buddies?

This information literally deserves 5 stars - I can’t tell you how many starter type videos I have watched that were supposed to be demonstrating the trainers high level of expertise and experience and instead it was instructional in demonstrating exactly what not to do. That colt was so well mannered - he trusted you - he tolerated a moment of not understanding and could very comfortably work to the solution - after he found the solution- end of that lesson - chef’s kiss - perfection
