Getting Started with the Divi Builder

The Divi Builder comes in two forms: The standard “Back-end Builder” and the front-end “Visual Builder.” Both interfaces allow you to build exactly the same types of websites with the same content elements and design settings. The only difference is the interface. The Back-end Builder lives inside of the WordPress Dashboard and it can be accessed along with all of the other standard WordPress settings. It sits inside the WordPress UI and replaces the standard WordPress post editor. It’s great for making quick changes while you are inside the dashboard, but it’s also confined by the dashboard and is rendered as a block-based representation of your website. This tutorial will be focusing only on the visual builder.

Yes, Thank You!! It seems very thorough & up to date. The problem with taking some of these online courses by others is that the software has changed & screens & features are different. Whereas if you go straight to Divi for answers & instruction, they should be current.

I first found Elegant Themes years ago when searching for a theme for a client. I was so impressed with the themes that I joined for myself, and I've been using your themes on more than 100 websites since. When Divi came out I was intrigued but felt that I was too busy to learn it at the time. I just started watching the Divi tutorials recently, and I am so impressed that I can't believe it! I pay $20 a month to Adobe basically for the use of Dreamweaver, but Divi beats Dreamweaver hands down, and membership in Elegant Themes costs much, much less. My sites are all going to be WordPress with Divi or Extra from now on. You guys have amazed me!

At 6:00 he says you can actually bounce back and forth between the VB and the Backend editor using the button in the Backend. Is that true? I have problems with changes syncing up between the VB and the BE.

The video starts with an already made site. Those of us just getting started need to start at the very beginning. Once the theme is loaded, I don't even see how to get to the visual builder, since I have no page or post created yet.

I have no "Enable Visual Builder" option at the top. I have installed the Divi Theme, however.

Good Afternoon, I am starting with creating site locally on desktop, I am trying to use the page builder, the new page isnt loading that option. Typically I get to that point and then I am presented with options on what I want to import, I am just getting the rotating icon for page loading, also I cant activate page builder plugin, it does state "

The ultimate WordPress page builder. Already included and not needed when using the Divi or Extra theme."

Thanks for this overview, is the editing only possible on the same date you worked on it. I screwed up my optin box, it triggers before I collect the email address. Now i don't know how to fix it. Thought I could go back to how it was before I messed up but it was almost a month ago.
