A simple way to achieve a textured look on your wood surface is to wire brush it!

The bristles on the wire brush clear out the soft grain on the wood which, in turn, allows Oil Plus 2C to penetrate deeper into the grain. This way, more pigment collects in the grain, resulting in a higher contrast look!

This technique is especially great if you plan to create a cerused wood finish look!

How to wire brush:
1. Use the wire brush to clear out the soft grain of the wood.
2. Lightly sand the wood surface since wire brushing can sometimes burnish the wood.
3. Clean with Raw Wood Cleaner and allow to dry.
4. Finish with your pretreatment and Oil Plus 2C colors of choice, or just Oil Plus 2C alone!
