I once went to see Bernie give a speech. As he was in the middle of speaking, someone’s phone started ringing, and it was LOUD. They didn’t turn it off, and he continued as if it wasn’t happening, until it finally went to voicemail. Then, after a few moments, it started ringing again. As I was wondering, “who the hell left their phone on??” his wife ran up onto the stage, grabbed his phone out of his pocket, and made the ringing stop. Absolutely iconic

My favorite thing about Bernie is that he makes an effort. I've seen him admit when he doesn't know something instead of making up answers, he's constantly struggling to do what's right, he knows it's impossible to serve all Americans but is striving to listen instead of being dismissive. He knows the job is too important that saying "happy birthday" feels like a waste of time. Man I hope we get him

I usually like to see politicians squirm during interviews, but Bernie is such an honest and sincere politician that in fact it was I that was squirming while you pressed him, Howard. Where is the rest of this interview, I would love to watch it, you both being on my "all time favourites" list. I'm sure you asked him some serious questions too.
