In this tutorial, I will guide you how to Encrypt and Decrypt Files and Folders in Windows 10. The Encrypting File System (EFS) is the built-in encryption tool in Windows used to encrypt files and folders on NTFS drives to protect them from unwanted access. Encrypting File System (EFS) is the strongest protection that is available for Windows to help you keep your individual files and folders secure.

Seems like all Win10 encryption does. Is basically put ransomware on your computer if you lose your certificate from reloading windows and your backup key getting corrupt.

So basically this does nothing to protect your files. Anyone that hijacks your computer has access to your encrypted files by simply going to advanced settings and just unchecking encrypted. Thats so insecure. In linux you set a password for the encrypted files and the non hidden files are gibberish if you open the folder, and the hidden folder linked to that folder show nothing is in the folder unless you mount the folder with the correct password and theres no way to know if the hidden file you're looking at is the encrypted folder. I wasnt expecting windows to be so anti secure, thats crazy.
