As someone coming from the RipStick I can say that for sure made things easier while learning how to freeskate. It gave me some bad habits like keeping the front foot still while mostly moving the back foot (I'm slowly correcting it), but still I managed to get a pretty decent pump on day 2.

I have some rip skates and that is still very different than free skates. I had a snakeboard and I have an Alterskate that is very similar but still different. Been practicing my switch on my Alterskate (can't ride switch on my free skates yet). Love my JMK rides much better than the old freelines I have.

Well, you could also just say "yes, it kinda is the same." Why? Because I bought these with the impression that they are like ripsticking and since I love and know how to do that, I can easily learn this. So I spent the $170 or whatever on a pair and I was sadly mistaken. Im like "damn, okay this is harder. Now I have to learn and get good at this because I don't want my money going to waste." Im so glad I purchased these the that impression in head or else I would've never been having the time of my life learning to skate on these! Lol. Theres a certain phrase or term that exists that describes my situation but I just cant think of it lmao!

Just take RipSkates or Xliders, best of both worlds. Btw, there were some Casterboards with 4 wheels in-line. I still own the Timberwolf Cruzor, the Longboard of all Casterboards.

Ripstik/surf boards mimic method of carve. Similar skate direction/orientation (reg vs goofy) minus the board.

I want to get new freeskates but I'm between the wooden and the metal ones, what are the pros and cons of each?

I had RipStik first and I learned that. Than I got freeskates it still took me a week to learn than.

Is Freeskates close to Snake board? I have both Snakeboard and Ripstik. And they are different. It seems to be similar to Snake board.

One thing I wanted to ask is if they are as stable as ripstiks when it comes to terrain. The roads near my house arent the smoothest, and theres a hill with a really bumpy and broken road at the bottom, but i never had any trouble going down it. Would the same be true for free skates?

I can ripstick for ever and ever no pain just like gliding, i have been freeskating for a little over a year but my legs and ankles can maybe go two feet without pain, why is that, they are very old used ones so do i just need new ones or is that normal
