Oracle Linux VMs - Using SSH Clients Putty & MobaXterm - Accessing GUI with X-11 X-Window & X-Server

Welcome to the series "You - The Oracle Expert" where you will learn and practice Oracle technologies and products such as RAC, ASM, Exadata, OEM, GoldenGate, DataGuard etc and also UNIX/Linux with hands on experiments using Oracle VirtualBox VMs.

In this tutorial (Part-6) of this series, we are going to learn:
- Installing and configuring SSH Clients - Putty and MobaXterm
- Using X-11 forwarding to access GUI based programs running in the remote server in the local windows host
- Installing Xming X-Server software and accessing a remote GUI

HI, I am getting below error while launching firefox(xming installed), can you please suggest :
Failed to open connection to "session" message bus: Unable to autolaunch a dbus- daemon without a $DISPLAY for X11
Running without a11y support!
Error: no DISPLAY environment variable specified

Hi Manash, first I wanted to thank you for these videos, they are very knowledgeable and help me a lot. keep making them.
I am facing an issue while connecting from the host machine to the virtual box machine. I can ping my host machine from virtual box after we made the IP address static but it's not working the other way. I tried a lot of things to fix the issue but nothing worked. Can you suggest something, thanks?
