I didn't get the 10Gbps with several NVMe SSDs: WD, Samsung etc This Sabrent definitely has much slower speeds than the other enclosures i've used such as Lexar, Orico. But the quick remove latch is super handy. Since it's slower so I use it as a cloning, for installing OS-es or a quick dock for accessing a much of other NVMe SSDs and it's a little more protective than leaving the SSD lying around exposed.

I plan to use this on MacBook m1 and considering speed will be limited any way, which ssd you recommend to go with it, doesn’t need to be fast as no point but affirdable durable and cause less heat. Thank you in advance.

You need to peel the brown ldpe film off the heat pad before powering up. Otherwise the heat will damage the board chipset over time. Official Sabrent video also forgot to remove the ldpe film off the heat pad.

I have a 4TB Lexar NM790 which has read speeds up to 7400MB/s will this enclosure limit those speeds? Thanks.

Hi, I recently had a problem with this product because my Mac doesn't recognise anymore the ssd. In order to understand better from where the problem comes from can you tell me if you connect the enclosure to the pc without any ssd the blue led turns on or not please? Thanks

do not buy, first drive I had in was a 980 samasung, it just stopped working, changed to a crucial, once again, after a week or so, just stopped working, now it works with nothing, connecting it just comes up in drive management as unformatted and cannot be interacted with, re-flashed it with the latest firmware, no change, it can't be used with PC, MAC, TV or Samsung phone, just no longer seed the drivee as accessible, but both drives work in any device they're put in. sebrant does not reply to any correspondence at all.

Honest review. So this looks ok, has a few sharp edges, not the best build quality and is very compact, so cooling is poor. Only comes with one thermal pad that is pre-applied, so your single sided drives (990 pro 4TB for example) will not make contact with the outer shell and will overheat in seconds. It comes with a rubber bung to hold the drive in place, but mine also had some kind of rotating plastic lever that prevented the rubber bung from being used. The cables that come with these are of really poor quality and you will struggle to get the best from this enclosure, using it. If you value your hardware, and your data, get something else, this is cheap and nasty junk and will drastically shorten the life of your NVMe drive.

This enclosure is great in theory. But in real world use it constantly disconnects. When I connect mine to my phone, tab or ps5 it will routinely disconnect making it useless. I'm running a Samsung Evo 970 inside. It works fine on my old laptop which has an old usb 3.0 connection thus limited speeds and less thermal output.

Definitely wouldn't recommend buying. Cheap but not cheerful.

You didn't test it. What kind of real world speed can it read? Write? Pointless video without this basic info.
