Thanks for this help. I found keeping the right shoulder level as a swing thought pre and post impact really helped shallow the swing and stopped me hitting behind the ball.

I played in my club senior championship this weekend. On Saturday I hit several fat shots that caused me to be 6 strokes behind the leader. After the round, I reviewed this video and hit the range working on weight forward and wrist angles. Sunday I shot a net 69 and won my flight. Plus I aced a par 3. Thanks for all the help.

Everything you say here Eric totally works. Hard part is getting my mind and body to do all of this consistently.

These are really great explanations. My Pro said exactly the same thing. Your images and constant repeat help A LOT ❤

My brain only just clicked on (and I now get the feel of) the 'bent right wrist angle' feel that is the third part of this video.
Wow !! What a difference in keeping my left wrist flat and ergo my clubface square.
Thanks Eric !!

hello

Thank you very much and blessings, I am a 14 handicap and this always happens to me two or three times in my round. Thanks to your video, I found out which of the three points that you explain in your tips had me ruining the game. After so many years, I finally get something that works for me, I wish you much success, thank you, thank you, Pedro, Caracas, Venezuela

I opening video. Love the visual station. Will save this and watch before going out to his balls. Thanks again for your valuable swing training videos.

Ok this is the 2nd day in a row of Eric putting out a video describing my issue. The tips on moving forward causing shanks was spot on. I eliminated shanks completely but was smashing the ground about an inch or two behind the ball quite often.
Tomorrow I can use these tips and see how well I swing. I also had lost the mindset of keeping my wrist flat the first 20 minutes at the range today....so I ordered the Hanger and we'll see how that goes. First time I've ordered a training aid, but all on Eric recommendation.

This is a great drill. One thing I'd add for some others that I saw myself run into is that when you are moving that weight forward on the downswing you want your lower body to be moving forward (hips) and your head should stay in the same area. If you look at all the players in those videos they have a nice tilt in their downswing where the hips are forward and the shoulders and head are more back.,

Was having a problem with fat shots, the other day at the range I started feeling like my right shoulder felt really high/forward. Problem solved. Almost exactly what you were teaching here. 👍

Excellent video - right shoulder under and forward coupled with piece one... heading to the range so I can beat my buddies!!

Lovely demonstration of how the club hits ball first! Huge to show my students this!

Had my career best round by getting my weight forward and eliminating fat shots. Unfortunately the next round I fell back into hitting fat again. Working the shoulder turn and wrist angles. Thanks for the help

Looking forward to using these tips. My #1 issue is chunky/fat shots. They come off the club nice and straight but die out 20-25 yards short..hopefully I’ll be able to use my 9 iron on 130+ yards and not my 7; it’s quite demeaning sometimes.

Amazing coincidence- I have been working on this the last day and this morning and here is everything I have been thinking about. Eric, is it fair to say- you have to delay the hit. To delay means holding the clubhead off the ground which means holding onto the L (right wrist and shaft) which means the only way to get the clubhead on the ground is to drop the right shoulder- through rotation on the spine angle- as the club shaft is "shorter". If you don't move forward and drop the shoulder you have to release the L to get the club head on the ground. Dropping the shoulder means you can delay the hit.

I like to close my right shoulder as you showed in another video Eric, because this helps me keep my right elbow in & prevent me from leading with my right shoulder out. This has helped me hit the ball first the majority of the time.

Excellent lesson Eric. Can we use that same drill for hybrids and fairway metals to hit off the turf? Thanks again.

My biggest struggle right now I got a divotboard and I was shocked how far behind the ball I am hitting on it. Real eye opener.

Guys, this works. Omg. Although, a disclaimer, for right handers, get to the far right side of the driving range or one of the 3 balls might hit some one like I did. Lol. No worries, once u hit them balls once, your mind and body will try better to not hit them. I measured a wall of tees after hitting the guy and keep with the drill. Then boom, my divots moved passed the ball. It really showed me that my main issue weight transfer. I am going to work at this for the next 3 days. Thanks Eric.
