My favourite episode of Utopia is when they announced an initiative which then got bogged down in red tape and they had to cancel or relaunch it. I must have watched that a thousand times.

The sad thing about this show is that it is based upon how the Australian government departments actually work. Waste time, waste money. The cast in this show are just brilliant.

Writing as a 'senior', the episode with Bert was so-o-o bittersweet.
Anyone remember the expression, "Look after the pennies and the dollars will look after themselves"?
How did that get flipped on its head? Billion dollar overruns in gov't projects while we're told to cut back on discretionary spending on coffees to cope with inflation.

And, the recent "social media age limit" legislation enabling reliable gov't services to gather citizens' web browsing info... The "UIN" (YouTube thumbnail) will soon be a reality...
