Freeland demands Poilievre apologize for past comments advising Canadians to invest in crypto

Speaking during question period on Tuesday, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre critiqued the Canadian government for upcoming carbon tax increases by saying that families do not have “chauffeurs” and are struggling to pay for transportation. Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland responded by slamming Poilievre’s past comments on crypto investment, saying that people may have lost 60 per cent or “maybe all” of their money if they had listened to the advice.

NDP leader Jagmeet Singh asked what the government had to say to parents who are worried that if their kids are sick, that there may not be space for them in an emergency room. Freeland acknowledged the current challenges that the Canadian health-care system is facing and pointed out that the federal health transfer this year will be $45.2 billion.

Referring to the 2019 elections, Conservative MP Michael Chong pressed the federal government for 11 election candidates who received funds through Beijing’s consulate in Toronto. Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs Dominic Leblanc responded by saying that the government has set up a critical election public protocol to monitor such situations and that there was “no change in the outcome of the election.”

Responding to Liberal MP Ali Ehsassi raising concerns about Iran, immigration minister Sean Fraser said that his message to the Iranian regime was that “Canada will not be a playground for bad actors and you are not welcome in our country.”

Big story in the Question Period today was what happened to the $655 million dollar loan given to Billion Dollar Corporation Fortis for a electrical project a year and a half ago by the Infrastructure Bank. The project was canceled because of financial volatility and inflation. What happend to the $655 million? Someone at Global news thinks
