I haven't been well this summer. And, it's been very hot. Consequently, all gardening activities ceased. I needed your encouragement to get going again. Thank you, Jeff ❤

I'm so glad you're encouraging fall gardening. It's seriously so much better than summer gardening! We just put in fall potatoes, peas, turnips, spinach, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, herbs, celery, carrots, onions and even cold-hearty tomatoes. Blessings to you and your channel!

Late summer, early fall is lovely as you don't have to battle as many garden pests. Loved this episode, gives me hope from the summer fails.

In zone 4 it’s a bit late, isn’t it? I noticed you are planting out starts. That makes sense but the local garden stores don’t have any and are shutting down. So we should have planted starts maybe 6 weeks ago, right?

I will say my short pole peas that I started July 27 are up pretty fast and currently about 4-6” tall (in a spot that gets less sun than I thought) and already have flowers on them! I have tried a few other things this year that I’m waiting to see if they work out. It’s surely fun to try! I love your videos and encouraging spirit. I especially love the quickie format! This one maybe needed a zone identification to make it even better. But it’s nice to know there are fewer bugs in late season gardening. I’ll have to put a reminder on my calendar next year to grow starts in early July to be ready for the cooler weather gardening of fall.

Thank you for continuing to post.
I have a question, though. I'm situated on Vancouver Island...East coast...zone 8b...but almost 50N latitude. Any hints on how to adjust planting times for latitude?
Thanks in advance😊

I having a problem with tomatoes plants. I started kind of late planting tomatoes from store bought tomatoes and thought I will planted the in a styrofoam cup just for fun they sprouted! They are about 7-9 tall. Planning to transfer them into a one gallon container.

Now it is summer weather here in the west coast. Temperature about 70-80 degrees. Planning to Fertilize with Alfalfa pellets and fish emulsion once I transfer the plant into a larger container. I have not taken them outside still in my house. Will wait until they are a little larger before I take them outside. Will easy them slowly to the outside. I already have a spot for them with morning sunlight and afternoon shade. Planning to munch the soil to keep it moist. Live in the Bay Area where our zone is about 9-10.
Now is there anything else I need to do? Oh, almost forgot I also mix the soil with egg powder shells that I make in the blender. Planning to self pollinate the flowers myself figure it might be too late in the season to have the bees do it. This way I know they will get pollinated. Did I forget anything else?
