My cat used to repeatedly lick my wrist, and then CHOMP! She'd never break the skin, and always purring when she'd do this.

My cat likes to nibble on my fingers in the morning to let me know he's hungry. He doesn't hurt me, just like an almost suckling. It's really cute, but as he's gotten older, he's gotten a little more aggressive with it, so I have to tell him no and hide my hands. Then he sighs at me and goes and sits by his bowl and howls lol

After 17 years of having my cat I can honestly say say has never bitten or scratched me. 😎

My cat eats on schedule at 6am and 6pm. When I oversleep beyond 6am, she bites me to get my attention just to remind me to feed her.

I have a 10 year old cat that will jump up next to me on the couch purring and wanting affection. So I start gently petting him and suddenly without warning, he turns and viciously bites my hand drawing blood, while growling and hissing! After several days he will want affection again and I feel sorry that no one in the family wants to pet him so I do, but the same thing usually happens. I can’t trust him and wish I had never adopted him. He’s like a Jekyll & Hyde cat!

My 1.5 year old cat loves to nibble on my earlobe for some reason. Every night when we go to bed, he sits on my chest pins me down and just starts nibbling on my ear. It’s been like that since he was a baby and I brought him home. It used to bother me, but I’ve accepted it in time as one of his quirks.

This is the best cat channel I've seen so far. Very good advice, especially about deescalating. I once adopted a big adult cat that seemed unfamiliar with "human rules" though he wasn't feral. He would bite my hand when I petted him. In response, I totally froze until he let go, and then left the room for half an hour. It only took about 3 times before he realized that biting wasn't something that you did with humans. He became such a good cat that a group of children could pet him (with my supervision).

I currently have a cat that bites to "order" me to feed him because 4 times a day isn't enough (I can't leave food down because my other case is obese). The only way I've been able to deal with it is to put him in a separate room for "time out."

My first day cleaning a customer's house I admired their beautiful Himilayan cat and pet him on top of his head. He bit down on fleshy plump part of the palm of my hand. OUCH. Lesson learned.Same with dogs do not dive bomb your hand at them, even slowly. LOL When I got my first cat a white Persian the owners warmed me that he gave love bites. His bites I loved even if they drew blood. ha ha. But after watching this video I realized- I am a cat.

My cat only ever goes to bite me when she is in a silly mood and is rolling around. I'll go to tickle her belly and her reaction is to bring out the claws and go to bite me - but she stops before making contact and then looks away and retracts her claws.
It's like her instincts kick in and then when she realises it's me, she fights it.

If my cat 🐈 bits, I just give her a gentle pinch. She loves it. 💘

If my cat bites hard but doesn't break the skin is it wrong to say "ouch. no"?

I've got a "vampire cat"....lol. Our youngest cat loves to lick my neck, and then whamo- the fangs come out...and bites me. I no longer allowed him up around my neck or face. I tell him "no" and push him away. If he continues, then I put him in a 3 minute time.

It should not be ignored that one of the most common reasons a cat will bite is when the overstimulation is to its sex drive, specifically when being brushed at the base of the spine. When a cat is enjoying the experience, it will raise its butt and otherwise indicate that it wants more of that. However, one should pay attention to when enjoyment turns into over stimulation and then sexual frustration, prompting biting.

It's normal I believe I have a Blue Point Rag doll cat he's now one years old. When he was 9 weeks old he would bite hands gently and lick as kittens do when playing and learning .. I was worried it might become serious when he gets older as months go by .. but even now he play bites hands he's does not penetrate his teeth deep ..
having sharp teeth might feel little prick ...

I say, "Careful! Only bite gently please!". And she complies.

Little kittens are always biting and jumping on their siblings and even their mother. This is play for them. When your cat bites you during playtime, it means that the cat is treating you like a member of their family. These are "play" bites, and are not meant to draw blood. Biting that causes bleeding is an aggressive bite, either from anger, or maybe because they never had siblings to play with, and never learned how much force is acceptable in a "play" bite.
