Link to The Sol Foundation:
Dr. Nolan uses Jung's concept of the collective unconscious and archetypes which pleasantly surprised me! His personal UFO experience helped shape his philosophy in life and gave our worlds one of the top scientists. He discusses and describes why there is the possibility of life beyond Earth. He also shares why Neil deGrasse Tyson is just not the best option to go to for learning about this topic. Dr. Nolan helped found the Sol Foundation which generates ideas and expands on creative ways of solving problems instead of merely going with the scientific and scholarly consensus. Ideas ought not to be quashed, but shared, discussed, and enjoyed.

Dr. Nolan shares why peer review process is in trouble and the dangers this brings to our entire society. The big paradigm shift we must prepare for is our preparation for potential encounters with non-human intelligence of NHI. Our future is tied to our choices we make right now. We need to garner humility and recognize we can go extinct, and aggression and war is just stupid. Humanity needs to wake up.

Gary Nolan is one of the heros in coming disclosure

My brother was abducted from a causeway in Tampa Bay Florida in the early 1970's. He's no flake. He went on to work in R&D for Intel, write code for interactive educational software and has his pilots license. Our parents had extraordinary abilities and careers. From my perspective and experiences, I don't need to wait for an external source to do a "disclosure" to validate what is blatantly obvious.

I like the response to the interview format. It allows people more time to digest a particular concept. I agree that the imagination is the foundation to expanding knowledge, science and technology. Dr. Nolan is one of those rare scientists who recognizes the need to include all possibilities, to eliminate biases as best we can. This interview really stimulated me to respond to your response. Here goes.

All aspects of human life on the planet has been evolving, including science, religion, morality and social development. Most Christians tend to think of religion as a means for personal salvation, but there is also the civilizing aspect. The past six thousand or more years has seen us increase the size of our social groups. We went from clans, to tribes, to city-states, to nations. Each stage of this progression happened because it provided advantages for survival and flourishing. Some form of spiritual or social glue was needed to unite people, typically a mythology based on common religious belief. An example is Moses providing that uniting mythology for the Hebrew tribes. Jesus provided the teachings and mythology for uniting people at the city-state level, and Muhammed provided teachings and a mythology for the Islamic nation. The same can be found in India with Krishna and Buddha. A lesser known "Prophet" was Deganawida who was able to unite the warring tribes into the Iroquois Confederation with a separation of powers. That's where our Founding Fathers learned about this concept of government where power is separated between three branches of government. The challenge we have today is to provide a planetary mythology based on a universal concept of we really want to live in peace on our only planet. If we today had official contact with people from other planets, it would be embarrassing to confess to these more advanced folks that the human race just can't agree on the basics of religion.

Nolan's idea that we may be too dangerous to be allowed access to other solar systems is just the way we are...right now. But I'm a believer that we will evolve, will become more spiritually attuned, will become more civilized and will become united as a human race. Contact with folks from other planets, or even the knowledge that these folks are out there, will be a powerful spiritual and intellectual force for uniting us. There may be a lot of disorder and confusion for awhile, but we'll gradually get used to the new reality we'll be living in. Religions will evolve to the new reality, or they'll disappear. Any surviving religion will need to accept that folks from other planets don't need our form of religion. Each planet probably has its own history and form of religion suited to its process of maturing as spiritual beings. Any true religion should be eager to compare notes with folks from other planets in order to expand our understanding of that mysterious Source of everything.

Tyson is a mediocre scientist and media creation. Dr. Nolan is a potential Nobel laureate who has a passion for exploring the unknown.

This is my introduction to "The Backyard Professor, " and what a treat! I so enjoyed rewatching this interview with someone who analyzes line by line, the way the best scholars (and professors) do, while communicating an infectious wonder and a gratitude for the privilege of examining and sharing great ideas, arguments and stories. And what an interesting background with religion and science. Makes me homesick for school. Definitely subscribing 😽.

I also am not a fan of Neil DeGrasse Tyson. Not only because even though he's educated, he has more hubris than smarts, but also because he previously tried to force a number of his female coworkers to have relations with him even though they didn't want to have anything to do with it, and Hollywood seems to forget that and just slobbers all over him anyhow.

Yes, the conversation has to happen. It is critical that we discuss this with the utmost respect. Of course ET is here. They have been for quite some time. Thank you so much for bringing this out!

Hmm, last post, I'm going to subscribe sir. About the 50 minute mark you discuss your journey with religious faith and uncertainty. You hit the bulls eye for me with this. I'm from the UK which is a lot more secular that the US. I became an atheist about the age of 12. I did this by weighing the faith I had been taught by the local Methodist church against living with uncertainty. I discarded faith for uncertainty at that age, I find Prof. Nolan's thought processes natural to me in this regard. Be assured I don't claim to have anywhere near his intellect, I'm just an average Joe.

Great video! I appreciate you sharing these things, BYP. Since your introduction of Chris Bledsoe, I have been feasting on the videos of the family members on the Bledsoe Said So podcast. It's been wonderful. Thank you. 💜

Tyson has lost the plot, completely, such an arrogant, opinionated government shill, lost all respect for him.

‘Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.’ Thanks for this production which is my favorite topic. He’s talking layered technology which nowadays is totally assumed and taken without knowing how it functions. Think about it; One million years in the future, when interstellar travel is common, the occupants would take that for granted as well. Currently, mainstream science will deny it. Good example is Mr. Contrarian Neil D T… Thanks Much!

I love Gary Nolan . I've been feeling like something's coming for a long time now and I don't know what that something is. I don't know if it's a good something or a bad something but it's a something.
