The logic is sound, but why would the armor's status be displayed on his chest where others but not himself could read it? Helmet display makes sense.

Originally this was like a identification pass (like ones used for a toll road).

Actually they could be elements that make up Beskar 🤔 HG = Mercury 28 = Nickel C = Carbon
That would make Beskar an amalgam, So the suit is actually reading out the health of the armour

I think it reads H=Human G=Green as in status is green. 28C= outside temperature is 28 degrees Celsius.
