Dreamworks is Dead and it’s Illumination’s Fault.

The Wild Robot is the last film to be fully animated by Dreamworks in-house which is just the latest in a long list of bad ideas made since Universal/ Illumination took over in 2016. In this video I go through all these ideas that I think will eventually lead to the death of Dreamworks as we know it.

OKAY so before anyone else comments I KNOW DOG MAN EXISTS... What I say in this video is that the spirit of Dreamworks is dead after the multiple changes made as to how the studio is run, especially the one about Dreamworks no longer animating its own movies in-house.

Which means Dog Man, Bad Guys 2 and whatever else is coming out of Dreamworks from now on is NOT fully animated by Dreamworks in-house. Dog Man is being animated by 'Jellyfish Pictures' I believe.

I say most of this in the video, maybe not as specifically as I should have but I still do none the less. So please watch the video before you comment. 😭😭😭😭

Okay, you are blowing this completely out of proportion. Wild robot is the last dreamworks film being animated IN HOUSE. Dreamworks is still gonna be making films, just not animating in house

They’re not dead, they’ve always been inconsistent in quality. Shark Tale was released in the same year as Shrek 2.

DreamWorks isn’t dead, it’s just taking a power nap while Illumination runs around like a Minion on Red Bull!

In Trolls World Tour's defense, it was the pandemic times, it still got success on streaming at least.

Fun fact: In boss baby: family business there was a scene where the animators put their best at making a scene as expressive and smooth and fluid as possible while the voice actor did the most boring ordinary voice.

And see this is why I’m absolutely scared for shrek 5 I want to be excited for it because I really love Shrek, but everything you said in this video is so spot on because DreamWorks ain’t what it used to be but great video

"Its Illumination fault"

Actually, in my eyes...its Pixars. Pixar is obsessed with making sequels...say what u wanta bout Illumination cuz don't hate me for this...but I'm the only person on YouTube that respects their work. U can't go around saying its Illumination's fault of an action they didn't cause...not complaining just pointin it out

''Megamind vs. The Doom Syndicate" is hardly a unique example. DreamWorks has always made obvious retcons when they adapt their films into a series. The "Mr. Peabody and Sherman" show focuses less on the father-son bond than the film, Tip and her mom were way goofier in the series for "Home", and the "How To Train Your Dragon" TV series sort of retconned Astrid and Hiccup's kiss in the film, and that was one of their more faithful adaptations.

Guys, Dreamworks isn’t dead, they’re making other films like Shrek 5…

Also, everytime I see videos like this, I think they’re all fake tbh

Pretty good video but believe it or not The Bad Guys and Puss in Boots the last wish were actually big hits. And The Croods 2 and The Boss Baby 2 are only seen as flops is because both were released during the pandemic and while they are considered hits on their own both just didn’t make as much money as their predecessors. Though I do agree that the company has not been the same as it use to be back in the 2000s. Which concerns me for movies like DogMan, The Bad Guys 2 and Shrek 5. Whether it be their quality or how they will perform. If Dreamwork’s does keep entering this path at some point the studio will either end up into obscurity or it will end up suffering the same fate as Blue Sky studios where universal will have to shut the studio down.
