Samsung needs to have an option to get rid of bloatware i get it they want to differentiate themselves with others and its such a simple fix. As for the pixel 8 series, it still needs 2 more years to mature and then charge flagship prices. As it stands it is a $700 (Canadian prices) phone not $949 for the pixel 8. I have the pixel 6 and they seem to not addressed wireless strength and ultrasonic fingerprint scanner again if you want to charge flagship prices it should have that flagship features.

Are the pictures taken in 50mpx or 12mpx mode? Because my s23 in 50mpx took very saturated and too yellow pictures. Because I don't know if it's my phone that's broken or if every s23 takes pictures like this.

4:25 well thats not true. Fenerally spoken there is no connection between battery size and battery life between refills. Its depending on the energy efficiency of the whole system. You can have a big battery but also a hardware which needs a lot of energy from this battery to perform correctly...If a chip is designed smart and energy efficient it will take way less energy and stay longer between the refills.

I have both phones. The Samsung is a far superior phone. But the stock Android makes the Pixel 8 a fun phone to use. The battery & screen brightness specs might be better on the Pixel 8 but only on paper. The S23 screen quality is better and brighter as well. The S23 feels a lot more mature/quality, the Pixel 8 feels more animated/fun.
It's a tough choice. Both great phones, but the S23 wins by a landslide. I personally think while Samsung sells screens to Apple & Google, they keep the very best for their own phones.
Also, the scrolling is buttery smooth on the S23 compared to the Pixel 8. It's noticeable.

Thanks for the video, Alex! It would be interesting to see a full camera comparison between the s23, Pixel 8, and maybe the 15 Pro.

Definitely would love a full comparison between these two devices, but could you do it after the One UI 6 update for the S23 so both can be equally on a stable Android 14.

In terms of speaker, Pixel sounds more bassier but Samsung sounds more clearer.

I need to know, do either of these have true blacks in dark mode? Is there some option to make it that way? Chronic migraine means the less light being emitted by the screen, the better. I at least need the option.

Does S23 have photo blurring issue? Like when we take photos of some writings upclose

Pixel perfoms on the software side and Samsung performs on the hardware.

is it just me or does the 8 look slighly sharper at 3x? I know it's using digital zoom from its 2x sensor crop, but still :o

Can't go estimating battery life based on battery sizes alone! I'd hope to see or at least some kind of testing for the battery life, would be cool and informative! Great video btw! Currently own the S23 and considering getting pixel 8 as my 2nd device!

It just comes down to preference. The S23 has slightly better specs but nothing significant to notice unless you're digging to find them. The Google system alone is worth alot and unbeatable at least for me with it's convenience, intelligence, and security.

I have both these phones right now and am trying to figure out which one to keep. It's actually a very tough decision. I prefer the pixel camera. It's just so natural and accurate. Very very good. IMHO, the lack of zoom lense is irrelevant because the higher megapixels on the main camera kicks in to maintain resolution when zooming. I like the way everything on the phone animates, especially when unlocking. The haptics are superior. Lots of nice AI Tricks. The AI can't be underestimated on this phone and for some it might hold a lot of weight.
The s23 is so wonderfully light and well balanced. It is more pleasant to hold and that is big for me. Paired with Samsung's one handed operation app, it's even better. It also has a faster touch response time (1 ms verses 3 ms). I'd say using the s23 feels smoother overall which surprised me. I thought this aspect would be flipped. And it is a more customizable system.
Screen quality wise, both have pros and cons and I'd call it a wash. Same with speaker quality. I wish Samsung would stop trying to Samsung so hard. I have no interest in their ecosystem. I'm full Google due to Samsung's lack of interoperability. And no surprise, Google ecosystem is a little better on a Google phone. However, Samsung offers enough OS level tweaks, that I almost find it worth it to put up with the other stuff. And then there's Bixby routines, which are surprisingly superior to Google Assistant routines. Like they are seriously fantastic and useful if you want to automate commonly performed tasks. For instance. Project battery automatically turns on at night while I'm charging and turns off right before I wake up so my phone has literally just hit 100% when I wake up. I can also automate the intensity of eye comfort shield throughout the day. So much more.
Conclusion. I'm likely sticking with the s23 because 1 handed use and feel in hand are big factors for me. But if that holds less wait for you, the Pixel may be the better phone.
