Epic: The Musical sparks our students’ imagination in ways they can't help but animate out. Emotions, charisma, and stunning visual effects —The entire visual experience is brought to life through this captivating musical interpretation of Homer's The Odyssey. The main character of this film knows the answer — and sings it at the top of his lungs.

This short film is the result of the Short Film Creation course, where students follow the entire animation pipeline — from the first sketch to the final frame. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, they learn to work in a team, create compelling performances, and add stunning visual effects.

The course helps students not only sharpen their animation skills but also build a strong portfolio with a festival-ready film.

The style reminds me so of the glory days of DreamWorks - Sinbad, Spirit, The Road to Eldorado, Prince of Egypt - -
This is so fluid, awesome and has a style that also works stylistically with the drawings of the Greeks

Now THIS is the kind of work I’d hope this music inspires! Definitely including this in my preferred artistic renditions for this musical, I’m very picky so I’m impressed—the colors and movements are amazing, but it’s how it feels Grecian that gets me. Not to compare, but sort of like Disney’s Hercules, in the sense that, similar to the movie, there’s a stronger push to have things feel angular and clean in design. This is one of the more unique Odysseus designs for sure and I love it for him! Athena, oh, she was so cool! Again not to compare, but her shifting into dark shapes feels like Eris from Sinbad. I wonder if any student was inspired by older 2D films. Regardless, all of you did phenomenal work! For real, if this got an animated movie/mini series, I’d hire y’all. ❤

OH MY GOODNESS?? This is amazing- PHENOMENAL animation!! The design for Odysseus and Athena are so cool, especially 0:42 when she removes her hood and Odysseus gets that neat shot “close to the camera”

Hell yeah! This Prince of Egypt, Sinbad, Spirit, El Dorado and Disney’s Hercules type animation fits PERFECTLY with EPIC! First time I’ve seen something completely and fully animated like it belongs in a film! And hell, the EPIC really does feel as though it can be film worthy as an animated musical.

Love how everything is portrayed too with the building, the fire, Athena’s design and how she reveals herself! Can see hours and hours went into this like a true professional Disney 2d artist! Congrats on the production, I hope Jorge has already seen this!
