John came into London for a performance, I heard him rehearse, he did not need a Public Address System his voice was so powerful - it could fill the whole theater. He IS the Voice.

truly epic, I love the opening clapping-like percussion it really sets a commanding tone for what the message of the music is about to provide, followed by a synth and the piano chords and what sounds like a synth string, not sure what keyboard this was done on....maybe a Korg M1?! Maybe more than one....then of course Farnham's legendary vocals, they are ridiculous in the range of whatever key this in (man, it's nice!). We don't get a hackneyed love song, we get a powerful and personal social message and statement that feels as relevant for today as it did back then. The bagpipes is an unexpected and nice solo instrumental before John blows the lid off with those epic vocals....so amazingly powerful and instantly captivating. Hard not to listen to this for the 15, 876th time and not get goosebumps. One of the greatest songs of its generation and simply timeless
