Is it possible to beat Pokemon HeartGold (beating RED!) without throwing a Pokeball at a single Pokemon?

I love Heart Gold. On my first play through I decided to catch a Zubat and evolve it into Golbat to fight Morty, as it was fast, knew bite, and was immune to poison. Leveling it up wasn't easy. It fainted a lot at first and I felt bad for the little pixel bat so I would let it follow me and give it haircuts to make it happy. When it evolved into Golbat I figured I would give it a few more levels to be safe, but when it gained another level it evolved into Crobat. Made me really happy 😊

Slugma has a Base speed of 20 and Magnemite has a base speed of 40, plus I ran the calcs the Thunderbolt had a 6.3 chance to OHKO Fast, Also Slugma has really low Special Defense and Magnemite has base 95 Special Attack Should have used Quagsire

I still would choose Typhlosion for this sort of playthrough. Feraligatr may be pretty good itself, but Magcargo honestly weighs it down so much more than Quagsire would do for Typhlosion. 8+2 is less than 6+5, you know.
