Feraligatr, Espeon, Heracross, Dragonite, Nidoking and Mismagius even if it evolves after the first league, Misdreavus is a powerhouse of a Pokémon that carried me against half of elite four.

Kenya the Spearow early in the game is a really strong team member, if you're patient enough to wait for a Dragonite....do it! The red Gyarados is also great team member 👍

This team was really cool, but the one I personally like better is Typhlosion, Ampharos, Heracross, Leafeon, Kingdra, and Skarmory

"everyone loves typhlosion" not after the allegations
edit: some love him, some hate him, but at the end of the day it's still a pokemon

From what I remember, Gold and Silver were the first Pokemon games I played and beat. Not a damn clue on what team I used as I haven't played it since I was extremely young back on my Gameboy, but Cinderace and Totodile are my favorite Starters of that region. My favorite Pokemon game I ever played was probably Emerald for the nostalgia and having my favorite starters.

Also its funny how none of these kinds of videos ever mention HM's
Dragonite is an excellent sponge for HM's, it can learn fly, and Waterfall/surf, saving move space for a dedicated water type. Ampharos is also has room space for HM's since it learns so little moves in HGSS singleplayer besides electric type.

Oh wow, a whole array of various types and challenging gyms. Feraligator, use ice punch, surf, return or crunch.

I don't think your getting a dragonite before you fight Clair

if you're not doing some kind of challenge it's way easier to just solo run with your starter and rely on encounters for teammates, unless you grind exp you'll usually be better off. also meganium isn't good early but it's pretty nice late game since it fits well onto these teams, something like meganium, red gyarados, entei, raikou and lugia will cover your bases very well

i beat the whole game with water starter by himself… didn’t grind for levels a single time just ran through the game 😭 did however use ho-oh to assist at his base level sometimes
