There's a push for New York state to ban the use of credit scores as a factor in setting auto insurance premiums. Critics say the practice penalizes safe drivers simply because their credit is less than perfect. CBS2's Tony Aiello reports the industry is pushing back.

I agree credit scoring shouldn't be used. However, there is a trade off. Many drivers will see their rates increase to make up the difference. That's happened elsewhere.

Yes I was irresponsible when I was young I paid a lot just for reliability I worked hard and became responsible and now I pay The same price as I did for one vehicle now I have 2 vehicles full coverage
Quit baby Irresponsible individuals it's gonna make us do the right thing and maintain a proper decorum with our finances We're gonna end up picking up the bill

Anything to help blacks I guess. Some people pay their bills and work to have a good credit score while other don’t give a damn and will just not pay bills and force law makers to raise rates on the people working hard to raise their credit while lowering rates for those fuck ups who have bad credit. It’s pretty convenient.

Because a person with a bad credit score is more likely to put in a claim.
That's what people don't understand.
