4:3 is the point of this. It is made for emulation and everything you will run on it (except for PSP) used, yes a 4:3 screen. So no black bars, no stretched graphics, and a more compact device (widescreens make devices wider). It also has a perfect resolution for a nice integer scale of a lot of systems eliminating uneven pixels and blurry filters. It is the actual resolution of DC, GC, PS2, and a perfect 2x integer of PS1, N64, many arcade games, NeoGeo, Genesis (mostly with a tiny strip border), 3DO, Saturn. Yes widescreen is better for Android games but that really isn't the nain focus of this.

If you want to increase the overall performance of the RG405M, you may want to flash the stock Android with GammaOS. It comes with or without Google services and fixes most of the issues of the stock OS.

I really enjoyed your review. Never seen your videos before. Hope to see you around again.
May I suggest that next time you test buttons, you test while in game so that you can also experience the accuracy. This is a big deal for end users, in particular d-pad users, most often fighting game lovers.

The fact that you got a malfunctioning unit before scares the sh*t out of me. I'm torn between getting this device and the Retroid Pocket 3+. I really like the way this device looks.

I really like this model i have been enjoying and you are correct your paying for the build i havent really tried to play any PS2 games. I mostly play snes, gba, genesis, game cube runs great but gets hot . Ps1 runs great and there are so many great titles . PSP run good for me im just happy i can play these on the go on a dedicated device . Also own rg35xx and moyoo mini plus . Great review man.

I recently purchased the 405m and its a great little handheld IF you know what you're getting. Its not going to run ps2 and GC that well but it'll run some games. Other than that its an amazing little handheld. I think the problem with small handhelds is they may be too small and too budget to be powerful enough to run ps2 and up. Thats where the higher end handhelds come in but.... i do hope they can make it happen in the near future.

a 4:3 screen with the d-pad on the bottom? What? And Android...I want Batocera not Linux (edit, of course I meant Android). I'll keep waiting for a better device to upgrade to.
