Should be no more than $500-600. Everyone deserves a decent place to live.

that one umbrella in the corner already made it look crowded

A closet for $1900 a month? Being a landlord myself I never comment on these apartment ads, but this is ridiculous.

Honestly I love this, I like the layout.
It’s cute and cozy
As long as I have my own bathroom
I’m not worried about the size

When I got on my own my place looked exactly like this. 300.00 a month. I asked how much is it now. After over 10 years. Get this.... 375.

Only a Smurf could live in that nice renovated shoe box!
The rent is INSANE AND CRIMINAL!!!

Hubby and I pay $1000/mo for a 2024 sf, 3 bed, 2 bath, full finished basement, 2 car attached garage on a 1/3 acre lot...1/2 hour outside of Louisville, KY...

Thank you for reminding me why we never moved back to NYC after he retired from the military!

$1, 500 for only 207 sq ft, in Harlem? You people are nuts.

A selling point is being able to grab a beer from the fridge while sitting on the pot.

Alexandra Gater could make that work. I'm impressed with all her makeovers on small spaces. She specializes in 500 sq. feet or less.

This is 137 w 137th #6D. I've been in that apartment, pre-renovations. I even recognize the Mother AME Church across the way. Man, it was a dump. The fridge was next to the breaker box, and where it is now was a closet. My friend cried (and not in a good way) when he saw the apartment after leaving the psychiatric ward at Harlem Hospital after a suicide attempt. He moved out in 2009, and passed away in 2016, capping off a pretty shitty life. Really takes me back.

What does he mean by net and gross? I thought the price of the apartment was what it’s listed for. Does the gross amount include utilities and parking?

Too expensive, but I'd put a loft bed in this room with storage and maybe a desk underneath...a small couch and table under the window...with some creativity, this could be extremely cozy...many NYC "apartments" are a room half the size of this with no kitchen and a shared bathroom. This one at least has a kitchen and a decent bathroom.

What are you on son? I've seen walk in closets bigger than this.

Gross rent: $1900.
Net rent: $1575.
The difference: $ 325.
Question: What is the name of the monthly fee of $325.?
Obviously, it's not a condo fee, since this is a rental.
Inquiring minds want to know! Please enlighten us.

This is what you can afford in NYC if you are making $75, 000/year.
