The Sony A1 is the most beautiful TV I've ever seen. I hope they keep the design for following generations.

I wonder how this compares to the LG OLED series in terms of picture quality. I have seen the Z9D and E6 side by side and although the blacks on E6 is much better, but the Z9D colour is breathtaking.

Sony ZD9 love that tv my favorite after oled one day hopefully will be mine but it doesn't have more contrast than oled but still a great tv!

Did you just say @ 5:58 in the video that the Z9D (LCD) had better contrast than the A1E (OLED)...?

Which picture looks better to you - the A1E or the Samsung Q9...?

can't wait to get mine once prices drop, maybe end of year or early next year. My xbr929 will still be kicking until then.

Hi,
I have my DVDs, Blu-rays and 4K blu-rays collection from USA where I lived last 25yrs. Last year I purchased multi region OPPO-UDP 205. Currently I live in Moscow and about to buy KD 55 A1 here. Local broadcasting as you know goes on PAL/SECAM. So, my question is this: will European version of this TV be able to read my NTSC movies? Thanx for your help. By the way, I like your reviews, - pretty informative and helpful.

Has anyone had a chance to compare the A1E with the Z9D? They are both the same price so I'm trying to decide between the two. I like the brightness of the Z9D which I have actually seen in person but the A1E seems to be the new hot thing on the market. Just curious if it actually has better picture quality than the brighter Z9D and what everyone would recommend.

Hi Abt Electronics, I have a question for you. I am now really considering the A1E over the Q8C 75" Curve tv by samsung. I would like to know which one of this tv's is brighter? Which one displays a better picture in your opinion? I am currently looking at the price and the 75" QLED is about a $1000 bucks more than the A1E OLED. I love sony and samsung and I just want a nice curve tv that is 75", but the A1E seems really nice too, but just 10" smaller which is a pretty good size. Doing more research to figure out which one I really want to go with.

I want this TV so bad, but... The lean is a deal-breaker. Damn! Why couldn't they've had a similar design without the screen leaning back?

getting a sound bar would it take away from the acoustic sound that you were paying for

The whites still do not look white. Inifinite contrast means nothing if OLED cannot achieve the bright whites of current LEDs. Sony needs to make their own badass OLED panel because LG does not understand the concept of brightness over build design... We really need more OLED panel creators.

2:25 what is burning mean in this condition?
So this tv can't stand 90° vertically?

No matter what I will buy it, now start to save money!

I want to buy the 75" Z9 but not until the price goes down to less than $3000. Maybe next CES.

"Compared to Sony's flagship Z series" technically Sony considers both he A1E and the Z9D to be flagship models, and as such they essentially SHARE the top of Sony's product stack

Pro: It is as described by Abt and Sony.
Con: Sony likes to ration words. Instructions are a struggle and the interface is less friendly than my 2013 Sony.

$4k is a little steep...once this tv drops to $2k, that'll be the sweet spot to buy at.
