The gravity of black holes isn’t stronger, they are just generally more massive while being compact. If our sun turned into a black hole, no orbits would change in our solar system as the mass of the sun wouldn’t have changed, just the volume. The reason black holes can have usually strong gravity outside of the surface of the event horizon is because they are compact. That an object with the same mass would be so huge the surface of the object would much farther away, meaning you wouldn’t be able to get as close to the centre of gravity as you could with a black hole. At a distance, a black hole’s gravity is just like any other mass. The main difference is when you get too close to the gravity well, closer than you could with any physical object.

It's not necessarily the strength of gravity that spaghettifies you, it's the difference in the strength of gravity. If you're falling in feet first your feet will have more force pulling them down than your head does (these are called tidal forces, the same thing that causes the tides) and the closer you get to the black hole the stronger this becomes... This also means that you can actually get closer to the event horizon of really large blackholes than you can for small blackholes. It's even possible to get inside the event horizon of the largest blackholes before spaghettification
