2.147 GHz overclock?
It seems like someone got lucky and won the silicon lottery.
That and a good cooling system.

Interesting results. Regarding the 1900 MHz and 2147 MHz, those seem to be not actually running at that. I remember Gamers Nexus saying multiple times that doing an OC and booting isn't enough, you have to validate that with the benchmark results. Because if it's not better, then it's not also actually running at a higher frequency.

If I were to guess, maybe the Pi simply boosts to 1900 or 2147 and immediately scales down. Is there any way to plot the frequencies while running the benchmark ?

Anyway, nice 1450 MHz overclock!

It sounds to me like it is thermal throttling at the higher frequencies, if you upgrade the cooling you might be able to push it further. It is always important to monitor temps when doing any overclocking.

interesting video. great work.
keep it up.
I bet there is a golden gem setting out that that just hasnt been found yet.

Good. It may be worth giving results based on the: 1. connected devices (USB, ..) / 2. type of processing (data read/copy, CPU, ..) / 3. the power source (max freq. will obviously be capped when running the Pi on-battery, ..) / 4. type of cooling (fans, passive, hybrid, ..)

Any powered hub should work, as your adding the extra power to cover

Reminds me of overclocking Athlon 2400 to 3200. Depending on timings, some frequencies worked and others didn't i.e. 3350 would run, 3250 wouldn't. 3200 was stable 'most' of the time. If you are on this kind of limit, back off a long way though as the little bugs multiply and scramble your OS install eventually. I ended up around 3000 as I got fed up with Windows file corruption, even with a huge cooler and low temperatures. Humongous power supplies and good motherboard design also have an effect up at the edge. I run my Xeon 2689 bog stock. No issues even with a Chinese motherboard rework and second user CPU. It will overclock with the Russian BIOS I have, but it's not worth it. The Xeon won't let you go crazy on package watts anyhoo.

Interesting viewing.

Poor little pi :-)

Ive been having a play on my Pi zero 2w running OpenWeb Rx Plus and found some strange oddity at an overclock of 1200 and Over_voltage of 4.
I get loads of RF bleed over on some frequencies but if I back the overclock back to 1100 and an Over_Volt of 4, it works fine.
The overclock of 2147 didnt boot and an overclock of 1400 did boot but was unstable.
I guess I will stick with an overclock of 1100 and over volt of 4 as this seems stable for me.

Does it have anything to do with the Ondemand Governor? or does the manual overclock settings bypass this

Wow, i wasnt thinking the pi zero 2w could be intercooler that much!, in the next video can you overclock the pi zero 2w to 1.4 ghz, overvoltage 6, and swap size to 2000 mb, and after you optimized the pi zero can you try to watch a youtube video at 720p, so we can see the performances? Thanks

My Chuwi HI9 just died (touch panel gone) Brilliant, cheap machine with no bugs. Very high res 4K for an 8" tablet. Teclast replacement has a faster CPU, is cheaper, but screen is only just over 1080 and one or two minor bugs. Good enough at this size though and 1/3 the price of name brands. 3-5 years I get out of a cheap chinese phone or tablet. Usually killed by numerous drops or physical things eventually.

Ok, I am not getting it. I use the settings from minute 00:27 and pushed the frequency to 2, 6 GHz. With over voltage 11 it's not getting as near as warm as with lower voltage.
How does this relate? Am I living dangerous or why can I push so much?

Weird (had my Zero 2W running 1400 max normally) and just did an overclock to 1900 Mhz... and I'm getting 10s on sysbench with your parameters. The Zero 2W is outside in the cold though (about 1 celcius) but with no fan or even a heatsink...

Maybe it's sysbench that is changed though?

---edit

Just thought I try it with 1450 and then (never ran sysbench with 1400) and overvolt setting of 4... and it would not start... I think my original setting was overvolt 4 and 1400...

great video ... which usb hub do you recommend (powered or not)
and which one you use thanks

You can obviously overclock the CPU but you can't do anything abought the tiny 512MB RAM. It still has plenty of uses for projects and retro emulation. Tiny it is but by the time you add a USB hub to the equation, the footprint becomes larger than some Mini-PCs with MUCH more power and 16X the RAM of the Pi Zero 2.

Hi Lee. Is it possible you could figure what step would need to be taken to get Magic the Gathering Arena running on a Pi4 ?
Cheers.
