With a ZeroW & 30mm tiny 5v fan I was able to stay @~30C on these settings,
Stress testing prime numbers stayed ~30C for over 10min

sdram_over_voltage=2

I had a pi B+ (which is essentially older underclocked Zero with better IO) in my drawer which ran KODI for my old TV - since I got a smart TV it was gathering dust - so I retropied it. The problem is, it wasn't really good at running PSX games (and I love them), so I Overclocked it.
I managed to get these settings stable on 2 amp Xiaomi phone charger with 2 generic heatsinks and pretty good airflow case (no fan, it annoyed me too much):

force_turbo=1 (took me few days of thinking before I enabled it :) )
over_voltage=8
arm_freq=1150 (1160 even locks up in 10 mins)
core_freq=552
gpu_freq=552 (artifacts at 560, instant crash at 575)
sdram_freq=633 (overvolting it more doesn't work, still crashes over 640)
gpu_mem=320 (worked out it as good split for PSX games, 288 is good too, 256 just leaves a lot of empty ram)
sdram_schmoo=0x02000020
sdram_over_voltage=4 (i'll probably up it by one just in case)
dtparam=sd_overclock=92 (cause of core clock and I don't really want to try 110)
temp_limit=85 (never went past 70)

Now running PAL ROMs is pretty ok, render res 640x480 (lower changes little to nothing), output to 1080p (same), bilinear filtering drops 1-2 fps, V sync and threading off, I get 50 fps for Spyro 1, 45 for Crash 3 (sound here is laggy) & Crash Bash, 46 in GTA 2. Still have to test more games :)

Does modifying the SDRAM help any? I wouldn't expect something like this to run into memory bandwidth bottlenecks.

But before doing any of these following steps? I'm considering on overclocking my Pi Zero W for PS1 Emulators. Do I have to go into RetroPie settings and click one of those options support overclocking before going any further? I have a Heatsink to keep my Pi Zero W cool without overheating. I don't want nothing to go wrong. Or just follow the method of how you showed us in your video. Thanks.

Is there any chance of posting a frame rate comparison between a base and oc pi zero? Side note, I've not found that my pi zero gets hot enough to throttle (around 80c isn't it?) even without a heat-sink. So I'm not terribly sure the heat sink will help much with that, but it couldn't hurt!

surprisingly before doing this my pi zero w was running kind of hot, not only it goes faster but cooler(i had the heatsink in place before the overclock) just that instead of 1050 I have it at 1000, 1050 made the gba roms crash
