We've seen your other haircut tutorials and realize that you obviously know HOW to CUT hair... and quite well: .However, I suggest you consider this experience to see if you have any "opinions" or " ideas" based on the PERSON whose hair you are CUTTING. Years ago when I was singing in night clubs, I went to a hair stylist in the San Fernando Valley, i.e., Panorama City, to be exact. I think his shop was located on Parthenia ? He asked me why I wanted the cut and trim and LISTENED to my explanation. (Some hair stylists don't have much regard for that, you know ?) I told him I enjoyed singing in small nite club settings, but that the hotels, and clubs, (Such as ( Holiday Inn's, Chadney's, The Kings Arms, etc., )for example REQUIRED that a bright light always be evident - HOT bright lights..yet the music agents always suggested (or demanded) that LONG HAIR BE DISPLAYED...and I hated it! HE told me he had other actresses and singers who expressed the same NEED. Make the hair APPEAR to be long, yet get the front off of your face and avoid the hot lights; Also, in the case of actresses, they wanted to KEEP ENOUGH HAIR from the crown to the back, in order to attach hair pieces TO. In knowing I didn't like bangs or having to keep trimming them continually...He "showed" me how to keep the back hair LONG, shoulder length or whatever desired length...AND how to cut the front on my own, while "layering" it and "fluffing" it to APPEAR to be a "short hair cut!? He saved me allot of TIME and (you might not like this comment, ha!) AND MONEY. At the first two or three visits, as I watched HIM cut the front for me, I finally figured out how to hold "parted clumps" and using this "special" scissors, how to keep up the style all by myself!

The ONE time I agreed to short hair to cope with hot lights, (Costa Mesa Holiday Inn btw) I was so unhappy with having to keep cutting the back of my hair, I let it grow out. ON my album "Time That You're Movin' On" you can see the PHOTO in which the photographer said I appeared to be very depressed. I WAS. Because I was having to face another wait in a local hair salon just to CUT the back side of my HAIR! No, this is not an advertisement...but it is a SUGGESTION that hair stylists MORE CONSIDER THE LIFESTYLE of their customers, than the ARTWORK of their own "creations." I hope that particular hair stylist, or some of HIS TRAINEES can SEE MY COMMENT !
