I bought a 50+ years old Yamaha upright about four years ago, and I HAD to learn how to tune it myself because there are no piano technicians in my city, it's already odd to find pianos here, so I really appreciate these videos. I’m a piano technician and yes this is one of many ways to fix this problem. Other ways are increasing key dip and adjusting your letoff sooner.

I usually first check if there's slack in key pilots. If pilots are fine, then I check key dip which should generally be 10mm. I wouldn't change blow distance, except if doing more complete action regulation process.
