Belgian non-profit group Papy Booom’s slogan is "Fun keeps you young." By organizing dance and music events for seniors, elderly revelers can still party hard — even if some of them are unfamiliar with the music genre.

Awesome - older people can still have fun. Look at the Wacken heavy metal festival where you see people of all ages.

In 20 years the original electro people will be elderly. They will need music like this

Wish there were more organizations/people that cared for the elderly like this.
A wonderful way to open up life for this age group! ( Though it should be a normal way to treat them and include them. So many ways they could be more included still.).
Seems some do not realize that being elderly doesn't mean they should be deprived from living, being alive, while they still are here..
Why not create services, ideas and ways, so that people in this age group, don't have to sit in their little rooms missing life, living on memories and photographs alone but to have regular opportunities to get out, to engage back into life, on levels that they are capable of?
Anyone?
Thanks, DW for the news segment
👍

How wonderful. Older people need opportunities like these. Countries like Belgium and the Netherlands recognise this, we can learn from them.

Don't make such a big thing about age! I'm born 1957, techno was a thing already in the early 70ths, dancing to electropopmusic already when I was 15yo, synth and trance was a thing in the 80ths, etc. I was on Boris Brejcha's concert in Stockholm two months ago and there were really people of ALL ages in the audience, my age and older. Please, see everyone as a person instead, an individual - NOT an age! Im soooo fed up with ageism, stereotyped, categorised. Here's my top fav techno DJs which I'm listening to, (they all just happened to be Germans for some reason)
Boris Brejcha is outstanding, he's the best imo:
Boris Brechja
Monika Kruse
Paul Kalkbrenner
Fritz Kalkbrenner
Kraftwerk
Sasha Funke
Stefan Botzin
Jan Blomqvist
Ellen Allien

We old people do not like when music is played loudly to the point it is hard to hear your friends talk. The young have to understand that.

Jammer dat ze als Brusselse geen Nederlands spreekt. Dat zou zoveel leuker zijn.

They went there once and that's it. If they were going there every Friday, the rest wouldn't be this happy lol

It's not just some show, even after having kids and a beautiful family, they cry sometimes in loneliness and its wrong to live like that when we have so much people who can atleast learn their skills and keep them occupied 😅
