This honestly is a fight I always wanted to see. Throughout stories I know there was never a time where error or nightmare provoked each other into fighting and because of that I always wonder what it be like to see this in action.

+More useful abilities.
+Far more capable on his own than Nightmare.
-More reckless and easier to provoke.
-Crashing and nearsightedness could give Nightmare plenty of opportunities to attack.
-Filled with negative emotions and would likely empower Nightmare.
=Error's superior durability/Nightmare's superior regeneration.

Nightmare:
+Could use Error's negativity against him.
+Far smarter, more experienced, and more cunning and cool-headed.
+Summons could potentially distract Error.
-Far weaker.
-Slower and easier to hit.
-Far less skilled combatant.
-Has predictable abilities that aren't potent enough to pose a serious threat to Error.
=Incredible regeneration and immortality makes up for poorer durability.


Needless to say, Error stomps pretty hard here with relatively low difficulty. Nightmare isn't nearly powerful enough to do significant damage to Error, and doesn't have any method of countering Error's code erasure and strings as, despite what this animation suggests, Nightmare's black apple is considered his SOUL and abides by typical SOUL rules. Error would be far too unpredictable and slippery for Nightmare to hit him consistently, whereas Nightmare would be a fairly slow and predictable target for Error. Error likely wouldn't be able to put Nightmare down for good, as he couldn't erase negativity itself (especially considering how negative Error himself is), but he could easily incap or KO Nightmare before the latter could even touch him, let alone kill him.

This fight also does make a lot of sense. Error’s goal is do eliminate every AU except the original. Nightmare’s goal is to kill Dream and every positive feeling. Nightmare ofc gets stronger with negative feeling. An example is something like Underverse where Error killed off all the universes. Now Nightmare and Dream are heavily weakened since there are less emotions in the multiverse. So this means that Nightmare would be against Error’s goals


Also Nightmares gets stronger with negative feeling. Error is very negative lmao.

I have been waiting for this fight...for about...forever! I can't wait to see, the amount of time and effort NEC puts into this is beautiful, the animations have come a long way these years. Error and Nightmare are probably the most famous sans Audible villians, so when NEC gets to animating stuff like this, we know its going to be good. Wow, the choreography in this one is INSANE! I've always thought Nightmare's offensive power was a bit lacking until Underverse 0.6 came out. Based on the ending though, I'm fairly sure Nightmare's still alive and Error just left too early

I've been waiting for this fight for ages ...for eternity ! I can't wait to see, the amount of time and high effort that NEC put it on this amazing masterpiece, surely deserves a lot of support .So far, the animations have come a long way these past years! We may agree cuz Error and Nightmare are probably the most famous villains ever seen! Most importantly, we gotta support NEC by his high effort that he made it in his animations to look very epic, impressive and awesome at the same moment!

You know, I’m seeing a lot of people pull the “nightmare can only be harmed by positivity” line, by that same logic characters like, reaper, seraphim, error404, fatal error, king multiverse, and infected can’t kill nightmare.

So there one advantage for error and disadvantage for nightmare I don’t see many people talking about and that’s that error generally fights ink a lot… someone who, to most of the fandom, is equal to error, meaning that unlike nightmare, error would be used to fighting powerful people, as well as people who have tricks like regeneration.
Nightmare on the other hand usually has others fight for him or is naturally more powerful then them… the only one who he does fight close to his power is dream, who’s usually had to fight people like killer first… nightmare isn’t used to being at the disadvantage of power
