I read a story about how a Swedish guy was evicted from his apartment for opening a can of surstromming in the apartment block stairwell. He took the landlord to court to argue his case but the landlord's defense was to open a can of surstromming in the courthouse. He lost the case.

Another Aussie here, a work colleague of mine reckons this stuff tastes pretty good, you just need to open it in some water. These videos just show everyone concentrating on the smell.
