Calling it: they’ll probably software lock the iPad Air to 60hz

I don't need 120Hz on iPad Air, what I need is Adaptive Refresh Rate because Air has the worst battery life out of ANY iPads

From my perspective the 12.9" iPad Air is a BIG deal! Been asking for that for years! Don't need horsepower or (especially) cost of the Pro. Just want to display an 8-1/2" x 11" page of sheet music LIFE SIZE!

I absolutely love your camera, framing, background, and the lighting in this one

I’m still rocking the 11” 2018 iPad Pro, and haven’t looked to upgrade because I don’t do “pro” stuff and use my iPad to browse the web and watch videos like most of the users. It’s been bent for nearly 4 years and still works like a charm.

Been looking to upgrade, but I’m used to 120hz displays and won’t give up my Pro for a downgrade. So, if the Air has 120hz displays, i might finally do it.

So this new version of Ipad Air is like Iphone SE with recycled specs on it?

I can see the 12.9 inch iPad Air will be same price as the current iPad Pro 11 inch. Hopefully the 12.9 inch air starts out with 125gb instead of 64.

If Apple really put OLED screens on the entire iPad lineup, I think they should put different types of OLED panels for each version of the iPad lineup: Rigid OLED with Super Retina for the “budget” iPad, flexible OLED with Super Retina XDR for the iPad Air and Mini, and hybrid OLED with Super Retina XDR, Extreme Dynamic Range, and Always-On Display for the iPad Pro. What do you guys think?

Sold my iPad 2 years ago but if they update the mini at the end of the year and it impresses me I’ll get one

It's been funny watching a rumor come out every other week saying "it's coming really soon guys!", for about the last 14-15 months

It's hard to get excited for the new iPads, for several reasons. The rumor mill doing the same thing for over a year straight is part of it, but also, having had an M1 iPad Air for over a year now, I just can't see myself needing more power than that chip provides within the next...decade or so? I'm never pushing its limits, it's just kinda turned into a laptop that moonlights as an extra display for my PC.

Having mostly transitioned away from Apple (iPad's the only device I didn't sell), there are a few things my Z Fold does that I feel like iPads could dramatically benefit from, which would actually make for an exciting upgrade.

One, my stylus is tucked out of the way in a place that doesn't make it hard to hold without taking the stylus off, and secure enough that it's not falling off whenever I brush it the wrong way with my hand. I would love to see the higher-end iPads come with a new Apple Pencil design which fits into the device itself.

Two, multitasking apps actually feels intuitive and customizable. Being able to split horizontally or vertically, freely resize the split or the pop-out windows, and have up to 8 apps running at once is a very nice software feature even if I almost never use more than 2, and multitasking feels very limited on my iPad once I got used to Samsung's way. Stage Manager is closer in some ways, but it's really fiddly and doesn't feel good to use.

Three, Samsung's system of A-series (budget) tablets and S-series (pro) tablets, with multiple sizes that have feature parity, just makes sense. There really ought to be the iPad, the iPad Pro, and that's it for distinct models. Just throw the sizes as a customization option. IPad starts at like $300/$400/$500 depending on the size, iPad Pro starts at $800/$900/$1000.

Tbh the only reason I went for the pro was promotion and faceid. If promotion came to the air, I could happily live with that

I think May release date is to manage the threat of possibly decent Microsoft surface pros if those Qualcomm chips really are decent.

Would be hard to justify if surface pros now match MacBook performance in tablet format but same price as an iPad 12.9.

If you can count the months it’s may and June the next cycle should appear. But everyone talks about march for some reason unknown.

iPad Mini with pro motion and m3 is all we need.

No promotion. Price around 800/900. If the 11in pro gets a bump then something needs to start at that 800 range. Cant have 2 products at base price in the same price. Apple needs to play the upgrade incentive game. Why upgrade storage when you can buy a pro at that price

I really think OLED would be a better idea for both sizes of the upcoming iPad Air (along with the upcoming iPad Pro), and I don’t think I’m comfortable with Mini-LED on the iPad Air lineup.

They did the same thing with the iPhones when they brought oled to the iphone 12. There was not much reason to get the 12 pro over the 12.
