The hen makes calcium's eggs from potassium (and not from silicium in fact), and the cock makes "cocorico", the french one cock, Kervran and Vauquelin are french scientists ! The real story about this calcium's eggs is that if you don't give calcium to the hen, but if you give mica stone, which means potassium silicate, then the hen is able to make calcium for the eggs. It seems to be by this way, and that is what Kervran said.
