This may have been therapy for other heroes, but to Spidey. House of M became a nightmare to the wall-crawler because he had to live in a world where dead men walked, knowing that one moment could've changed his life forever.

His Spider Sense drove him insane from trying to force reality back into his head while he was trying to somewhat fight it. It really is the saddest part of the whole thing

What's crazy is that I believe he just naturally remembered it once all was fixed. He wasn't forced to remembered or asked to, he just woke up next to MJ and went to cry alone.

I hate that he keeps getting brought down in so many comics.

I like to think that the reason in House of M he's with Gwen and not MJ is because that would mean that Gwen never died, not necessarily because he loves Gwen more than MJ, it's more Gwen's memory and the idea of her rather than her actual self.

Remember, having what you want and losing it is way worse than never having that specific thing because you know how it felt with it. Once again, a beautiful exmample of how the writers turn Peter's life into a living hell. Classic.
