aspen FR20 and FR30 speakers

Though the FR30 might be the perfect speaker for many, many audiophiles actual living/ listening rooms - IF price wasn't a consideration. I suspect a majority, aka. the larger portion, of these potential buyers will opt for the FR20s.
In other words, I suspect that these will be the best sellers in this speaker line. Congrats Paul n' the entire PS Audio team!💜

Towers are usually a book shelf speaker with a stand that contains woofers. Once you get that bookshelf speaker right, you need matching woofers that complement the bookshelf's response, however the consideration taken in choosing the woofers low pass frequency revolve around loading the room modes with an NFB based amplifier as well as decoupling human voices which is about 300Hz. This frees the midrange driver from fighting with the room bass modes. The next stage revolves freeing the mid range driver from the all sensitive 3kHz frequency, the higher the frequency the more directional the midrange driver. The recommended frequency for this is 2kHz, however one may choose to go lower to minimize audible discrepancies in the crossover region. However with notch filters one can work with 2k5 resulting in a softer response in this area. Four way speakers enable one to separate the two bass mode regions of a room, thus the birth of the subwoofer assisted tower.

The FR30 sounded very good at the Toronto Audio Fest. It's too bad that the room was mall and almost square and the background noise from the hall was 76db.
