it gives me a good sense of the timber of the instructions, and the separation of the instruments and the soundstage/room size and how black the background

Paul's Octave dsd recordings are so organic and analog like. I will repeat my mantra of great recordings will make a good system sound fantastic. Conversely, a so-so recordings (most recordings) will make a great system sound so-so. It doesn't start at the source component, it starts at the recording event.

Paul definitely knows what he is doing. His books helped me in the beginning when I knew nothing about toe in or pulling speakers from the wall. I was oblivious, and his books really opened a whole new world for me. Beautiful system. 😍

Has a tuning fork vibe. Very clean looking, and I’m kinda digging white gloss nowadays. I got a pair of SVS Prime Wireless Pros in white and I love them.

The guy from Canada that reviewed these at the show, who is also a brick and mortar store owner, said the sound of these is different from the FR 30's in that the '20's are more laid back and perhaps recessed. I thought it was a nice way of saying they were uninvolving and boring. If so, why play such sleepy music with no more than 4 or 5 musicians in the soundfield?

Sorry to say this but PS audio cannot compete with the big names, whether ss or tubes, and speaker wise for a long time.

Are the Stellar amplifiers more up-front sounding? If so, they may have been a better match to more laid-back sounding speakers.
