My girlfriend and I went there this spring. We didn't have a reservation which would absolutely recommend for anyone going there. We arrived over an hour before opening and got lucky to get the first spot on the waiting list so we were able to eat there eventually that night. The entire experience is incredible. I can not recommend this place enough. Not only is the entire ambience really breathtaking but the servers were most kind and the food was _SO_ good. I had the yamabuki, the tsukemen (I know, a lot!) and my girlfriend had the kokiake and they all had such a rich and layered taste. We also had the vegan sushi which was sublime and next time I am in Kyoto I will go there again. It was worth every yen two times over. It still makes my mouth water reflecting on the experience 4 months later.
