This was the first time I thought to myself "wow" while playing this game. Everything about this is just so terrifyingly beautiful, the colors, the music, the perspective angles in the scene, and especially Yuna. Such a work of art.

This scene is possibly one of the most beautiful scenes in video game history ❤

"When people die, Yuna dances. When will she stop dancing? When will it end? Yuna won't stop dancing, not until Sin is gone."

I love the concept of monsters in this game. Lost souls that were never properly grieved for and guided to the afterlife. Made manifest in to monsters hungry for the souls of the living they resent because they live on while their own life was taking so unjustly. It really helps solidify the point that spira truly is a realm ruled by death

I used to do this dance in my mom's room and I'd play the scene over and over! I remember trying to do it on top of a laundry basket (like the water pillar she's standing on) but I was too big and I broke the basket. ahh memories.

This game was so beautiful. Final Fantasy X was a lot of things, but mostly it was a love story, a beautiful, indescribable, beyond-words love story. The beautiful music, artwork, characters, clothing, settings, etc., all while telling this beautiful, beautiful love story. I loved the world too, a world where people were so innocent, so genuine, so simple. Yuna's character was my favorite. I loved everything about her; young, sweet, caring, righteous, innocent, graceful. The whole game was like a dream almost, but deep down I think it had more elements of truth than fiction. It affected me deeply after I finished it; for several months I couldn't stop thinking about it. Final Fantsy X was, first and foremost, a love story. Probably my favorite video game of all time. Just beautiful.

Think of all the money, the dedication, the work, the mind that going to just this 1 scene. It's a master piece in its time.

I think this scene also marks one of the first steps in Tidus's growth. Just before, his biggest issue was his desire to go back home to Zanarkand, but after seeing this sad dance, his thoughts are all about the people killed by Sin and those left behind. Progression from being a selfish blitzball ace, I think.

not many know, but the transition between PS1 and PS2 in video quality was astonishing in my childhood

the influence of Japanese Shintoism and Kagura Dance ritual is so masterfully done in this scene ♥

I've never noticed this but Tidus is glowing slightly when Yuna completes the Sending.

16 years ago this game came out, i have wasted hundreds of thousands of hours on thousands of games but this still has special place in my heart. People often say back in the 80´s, 70´s etc times were better, but im so fucking happy i got to experience this in my youth.

I remember seeing this at my friend's place when I was a kid and I had no idea what Final Fantasy was. I remember being absolutely mesmerized by this and went out to buy FFX the very next day.

After that, I realized video games are more than just arcade fun that you play with your friends/alone, they've stories and worlds that they can deliver in a way no other media can.

I hate to use the term "gamer", but without this scene and this game, I'd have never spent countless hours playing video games and become a "gamer."

I love how you can see how hard it is for Yuna not to cry at 2:17, such a powerful scene.
I love all Final Fantasies, but FFX had the biggest emotional impact on me. Amazing masterpiece in storytelling, visuals, world background, atmosphere, music, characters..everything!

Even in 2018 this scene is still iconic. Her stoicism and resolve were still strong at this point, which made it even more heartbreaking when she finally broke down in Macalania Woods and admitted for the first time that she didn't want to die after the Final Summoning.

Oh my god... Ive never noticed that Tidus also responds to the ritual. His souls years for rest.

When my cousin introduced me to this I genuinely felt like Tidus and my cousin being Lulu. Tidus in the game asking "what's the end?" And my same confusion when I would ask my cousin "what's gonna happen!?" And my cousin reveling in the spoiler-free torture would simply say "you need to play to find out." Similar to Lulu saying "when Yuna defeats Sin."

I remember when I first played this I wondered who that woman had lost to make her collapse in such a way.
When I played this again I realised she is in the scene when sin attacks kilika, holding a baby. Now when I watch this I feel horror struck as opposed to feeling in awe.

This is still so stunning 20 something years later. The way the destruction of Kilika was so brutally swift, the way the dead are arranged underwater like flower petals, the way Yuna walks on water like a prophet, the way Yuna and the water become the style/stigma and the pyreflies fly away like pollen, the way the fire torches intensify, the way the people are crying and Lulu explains the sending, the sun setting... Top tier scene.
