I used garlic bread paste too and I sprinkle freeze dried chives on top for color. DELICIOUS!

My kids and I accidentally discovered this while doing some mad science with dinner. I started with the usual—melting butter with some Italian seasoning. Once fully melted, I added water, about a quarter of the butter’s volume. While still heating, I stirred like crazy while adding cornstarch—you’ll know when it’s ready. It always gives me a spreadable oil paste that holds the salt, garlic, and herbs in suspension for easy spreading. You can’t even tell when it cooks in!

I’m glad you noticed it cause I was about to say that is far from butter, coloring, garlic flavoring, maybe some parsley and some kind of gelatinous powder to make it all cohesive

When I worked in a supermarket kitchen, there was a bucket of garlic buttery spread that the baker used to spread the take and bake garlic bread. I wonder how similar this is!

I need America to get on board with the slit for spreadable stuff!! Imagine how much cleaner and neater it would be while trying to spread Nutella or cream cheese on a bagel with this!

Its coming out like warm butter because the small slit creates a smaller point of exit with the exact same force you'd use on any other tube. This creates a higher pressure due to the smaller surface of the slit than a big round hole. It's like how drinking is easier through a thin straw unlike a wide straw as the same force on a smaller surface creates higher pressure
