I rebuild brakes for my job. Next time add a pea size dab of grease in the boot and squish it to spread the grease around. Also if they are old you can use a wire brush to clean the rust out of the holes. You aren't going to damage the bracket holes. We use reamers on really badly rusted pin holes. Oh and when you put the pins back in, press them all the way in the holes and lift the boot a little bit to let the air out so the pin stays in the hole.

Remove each piece, clean and lube. Test for smoothness. The 4 steps shown here along with avoiding lube on pin end. 👌 AwesomeVideo 🎉

Can we try this again on something that's not brand new? For example: an easy way to deal with rust and how to make it "like new again". Also what can be saved and to know when it needs to be replaced.

I like to add so much it hydro locks in the hole and won’t stay in. 😂

My 04 Camry's boots have a metal flange. They have to be pried out and hammered back in. I end up having to buy new ones for every brake job.

It’s not that easy to remove the boot when it’s old. Have a new one handy.
